Birdie Schae (she/her) writes young adult romcoms about love in its many different forms.

Her debut novel, SMASH OR PASS, comes out in 2026 with Knopf Books For Young Readers.

Birdie currently studies Language and Culture in The Netherlands, but she grew up in a small town in Belgium. When she’s not writing, she can be found crying over all sorts of fiction, listening to a concerning amount of music, or tweeting. Not like an actual bird—just on Twitter.
